How The Booo moved 42% of orders to WhatsApp
The problem: a phone nobody could answer
Friday night at The Booo used to sound like every busy restaurant: a phone ringing behind the pass, staff sprinting between tables, and customers giving up after the fourth ring. Every missed call was a missed order or a missed booking — and with multiple branches, orders regularly ended up at the wrong kitchen.
The team had tried tablets from delivery platforms and a shared mobile phone for WhatsApp. Both created the same problem in a different shape: someone still had to stop, read, re-type into the POS, and reply by hand.
The build: ordering that ends in the POS
WhatSawa put The Booo's full menu inside WhatsApp on the official Business API — one number for both islands — alongside the order.thebooo.com ordering site. The flow customers see:
- Say hi (or tap a click-to-WhatsApp ad or QR on the table tent).
- Browse the menu as tappable cards, build a cart in-chat.
- Pay by a per-location Stripe link (Ibiza and Palma each settle to their own account) or choose cash on pickup.
- Get a confirmation with pickup time and branch.
Behind the scenes, every confirmed order lands in the Sinqro POS as a clean ticket, routed to the customer's chosen branch. Nobody re-types anything. Table bookings follow the same pattern: live availability per branch, one-tap confirmation, and an automatic reminder before service.
The results
- 42% of all orders now arrive via WhatsApp — customers stopped calling and started tapping.
- Zero missed calls at peak: the bot answers "table for 4?" in two seconds, even at 8 pm on a Friday.
- +23% weekday covers after two "quiet night" campaigns to lapsed regulars near the Ibiza branch.
"Customers stopped calling and started ordering. The kitchen just sees clean tickets in the POS — per branch, no mix-ups."
What's next
The Booo is rolling out payment-first pickup ordering (paid before the kitchen fires) and multilingual campaign segments. Both are configuration, not construction — the channel is already live.
