The problem: great first orders, quiet second ones

Our client — a healthy-meal delivery brand in Ibiza — delivers prepared meals across the island. New customers loved the first order — and then life happened. Without a reason to come back this week, reorders drifted. Instagram posts reached whoever the algorithm chose, and email blasts landed unread.

The build: ordering, blasts, and a thank-you that sells

WhatSawa put the whole loop on the official WhatsApp Business API:

  1. Ordering in-chat — the menu as tappable cards, a cart, and a Stripe payment link, so ordering takes a minute from the couch.
  2. Marketing blast system — segmented broadcasts to opted-in customers for new menus and seasonal promos, personalized by name and order history.
  3. Post-order discount codes — the retention engine. Right after an order is delivered, the customer gets a thank-you message with a personal discount code for their next order, valid for a limited window.
Why the post-order code works: it lands at the moment of highest goodwill — the food just arrived — and it lives in the same chat where reordering takes two taps. The deadline gives a reason to come back this week, not "someday".

The results

  • +31% repeat orders from customers who received post-order discount codes.
  • 91% read rate on campaign broadcasts — versus single-digit open rates on email.
  • Two taps from message to paid — the code applies itself when the customer reorders in-chat.
"Every order now ends with a thank-you code in the same chat. Customers come back within the week."

What's next

Next up: replenishment nudges timed to each customer's ordering rhythm, and referral codes sent at the same high-goodwill moment as the thank-you message.
